A workshop for OLabs was held at Bhavan Vidyalya, Panchakula, Haryana, as part of the CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition, on 17th to 19th December 2015. The programme was organized to provide a common platform for schools, teachers and students to shape their innovative ideas from interactive, participatory, hands-on, innovative and creative learning experiences.
An OLabs training programme was held in Odisha at M.B.S Public School, Bhubaneswar, on 27 November, 2015. Fourteen science teachers participated in the training programme held at the computer lab of the school. Rathnam Arun, Sindhu B and Suresh D represented AmritaCREATE.
The Center of Research in Advanced Technologies for Education (AmritaCREATE) conducted a workshop of OLabs for teachers of Class 9 to 12th on 26 November 2015 at The Hotel Presidency, Bhubaneswar, organized by Amrita Vidyalayam and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Janla, Odisha.
A workshop for the OLabs was held at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, as part of the Annual Science Fest, Aarohan’15, on 5th and 6th November 2015.
An OLabs workshop was conducted at Mangalam College of Engineering, Ettumanoor, Kottayam, as a part of WAMPS 2015, a national workshop on Applied Mathematics and Physical Science, on 22 May 2015, for teachers and B.E.D students. More than 60 participants attended the event. Ms. Silpa Sivan gave a brief introduction of OLabs.
A workshop for the OLabs project was held at PGM Boys and Girls’ High School, Pandalam, Kerala, on the 6th February 2015. Thirty-nine Science teachers from the school participated and had a unique opportunity to experience the virtual labs through a demonstration organized by AmritaCREATE.
OLabs, online virtual science labs for 9th-12th standards, were launched in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands schools through a function and workshop held in Port Blair on November 22, 2014. The workshop was attended by 63 teachers from 45 schools who learned how to use the labs through a demonstration by Rathnam Arun of AmritaCREATE.
AmritaCREATE conducted a training programme for secondary science teachers on the significance of OLabs at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, on 21 January 2013. Seventeen science teachers from the nearby schools of Bhubaneswar attended the programme.
The workshop was part of the second edition of the Amrita International Conference on ‘Women in Computing’ organized at the Amrita University’s Ettimadai campus from January 9-11, 2013. Around 300 school children from 18 schools located in Coimbatore and Palakkad areas participated in the workshop and had a unique opportunity to experience OLabs on a tablet.
A hands-on workshop for the OLabs project was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Mysore Campus, on the 12th December 2012. The workshop was part of a two-day national conference on ‘Universalisation of Secondary Education: Prospects and Challenges‘ that was held at the same campus on 11th & 12th December 2012.
