AmritaCREATE, Amrita University and Kottayam Sahodaya jointly organized a one-day workshop on OLabs at Sanjos Senior Secondary School, Choondacherry, Kottayam, on 21 January, 2017. One hundred and seventy science teachers from sixty- nine schools attended the workshop.
Sindhu B and Arun Jayaram, staffs of AmritaCREATE, led the training session. The team explained one module each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology to the audience in the central auditorium of the school. After the demo session, all the participants were taken to the computer labs of the school. More than forty internet enabled systems were arranged in each computer lab for the hands-on session. Each participant was given a chance to run the programme and try out the simulation, animation and video part of the website.
After the training sessions, free OLabs CDs and certificates of participation were distributed to the participants.
"The project provides a clear idea regarding science topics and it is very easy to perform. Time-saving and innovative project," commented by Samitha Mol.S, Sreekumaramangalam Public School, Kottayam.
"The training session was quite informative. We understood the operations and applications of OLabs through this training programme. The explanation of the instructor was very effective," remarked by Mary S. Kuruvilla, BMM Senior Secondary School, Kottayam.
