A Workshop on OLabs at St. John’s School, Kollam

AmritaCREATE, Amrita University, in collaboration with Travancore Sahodaya, jointly organized a teacher training programme on OLabs for School Lab Experiments at St. John’s School, Kollam, Kerala, on 22 February, 2017. Seventy-five science teachers from thirty-six schools participated in the training programme.

Sindhu Saju and Ashish Mohan, OLabs team members, explained the significance and benefits of OLabs during the demo session. The team demonstrated an experiment in OLabs virtually for the participants. Later on, the participants got the opportunity to explore OLabs in computer labs.

After the training session, certificates of participation and free OLabs CDs were given to the participants.

"OLabs is applicable in the present day science curriculum. The workshop introduced many topics related to real life situations," commented Ancy Kishore, Oxford Central School, Kollam.

"The training was effective and informative. Easy to understand and perform an experiment virtually. We can save more time by performing an experiment online compared to real lab," remarked Baby Girija, Anand Bhavan Central School, Anchal.
