As the part of Amrita OLabs training programme, AmritaCREATE conducted OLabs workshop at different schools in Madhya Pradesh from 16 – 19 June, 2016. More than 280 teachers from 120 schools participated in the programme. Six regional newspapers covered the session. On 18 June, 2016, the teachers’ training was conducted at Delhi Public School Sagar.
One hundred and twenty teachers participated in the training session.
Prof. Mangla Bhide, Zoology Head of the Department, Doctor Hari Singh Gour University inaugurated the training programme. Several school principals from the nearby schools participated in the training session. Priyadarshan Nayak, the principal of Delhi Public School gave the welcome speech. The training session was started by Rathnam Chenthamarakshan, Project Manager, AmritaCREATE. She gave introduction about OLabs and Anoop Muralidharan, Program Lead, AmritaCREATE explained in details about the experiments in the website. “The effort by Amrita university, to enrich teacher training learning process by the use of virtual simulatory labs is path breaking venture in the field of education.
The basic idea of providing these labs as a supplement to the teaching of Science, Maths and English subjects for the senior classes is quiet enterprising and innovative as it is going to add new dimensions towards 21st century learning. We are sure it is going to accentuate and further facilitate the profound sole of teacher as a techno-savvy educational leader of today’s generation. We hope to work in collaboration with your team for the upliftment and betterment of students manifold times.” – Priyadarshan Nayak, Principal of Delhi Public School Sagar. On 17 June, 2016, OLabs training programme was conducted at Kabra Memorial Public School, Gadarwara.
One hundred and twenty teachers participated in the session. Pramila Upadhay, the principal of Kabra Memorial Public School expressed their gratitude for introducing OLabs and training the teachers of their school as well as the nearby schools. After the training session, OLabs CDs were provided to the participants. On 16th June, 2016, OLabs training programme was conducted at SYNA International School, Katni. “OLabs helps to supplement the conventional practical laboratories. The session was well explained. AmritaCREATE is contributing a lot to the society by introducing educational projects like OLabs” – Dr. Aditya Kumar Sharma, Principal of SYNA international School. A demo on CCE was also done after the OLabs training Session. The whole program greatly interested the participants, evoked their curiosity and made them aware of the significance of OLabs in the present day curriculum.
